Breaking News! Happy Birthday SFVIPS!!!!!
South Florida VIPS turns “2!!! Co -Founders Lori Ludwig and Nicole Flier are happy to report that their “brainchild” has turned two years old, July of 2008! What started as a small group of friends gathering to support a local cause has turned into a membership list of over 800 individual supporters. In the past two years of operation, approximately $20,000 in event proceeds has been raised. SFVIPS is proud to have significantly donated to not only KIND, but COTA and most recently Boca Helping Hands. Stay tuned for more exciting events and new charity involvement as we move forward to a successful year number 3!

ATHENA AWARDS HONOR LOCAL AREA LEADERS, BUSINESSES AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
West Palm Beach, FL - Local area leaders, businesses, and young professionals came together September 17 to honor three exceptional recipients with the 2008 ATHENA award. This year’s recipients are Michelle Diffenderfer of Lewis, Longman, and Walker in the ATHENA category; Chen and Associates in the Business category: and Nicole Flier, James A. Cummings Inc. in the Young Professionals category.
The ATHENA Awards, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and presented by National City, honors individuals, businesses, and young professionals that have achieved professional excellence, actively served the community, and helped women to reach their leadership potential. Last year, the Chamber was the first ATHENA event in the country to honor a recipient in the Young Professionals category.
The Young Professional ATHENA Award was presented to Nicole Flier. A graduate of the University of Southern California, she is currently the Director of Business Development, for James A. Cummings, Inc., a South Florida General Contractor. This young professional is very involved in the community and serves as a member of the “Builders Board of Appeals” for the Boca Raton City Council. Other community involvement includes; 2008 South County “GO RED” Chairman for the American Heart Association, Co-Founder of the young professionals 20’s - 40’s networking group, “South Florida VIP’s,” Board Member of ORBIS a Broward County based young professionals organization, and Sponsorship Chairman for 2008 March of Dimes Signature Chef Event. Additionally, she has taught and mentored young, female students from Addison Mizner Elementary, Boca Middle School, PBCC Summer Youth College, Rivera Beach Maritime Academy and Northwood University. The other finalists were Sarah Alsofrom, Gunster Yoakley; Debra Ball, Constellation Television Production, LLC; Meenu Sasser, Gunster Yoakley
